<p>Engineering housing is good if you are not going to take any UHC classes your freshman year. If you are, Sutherland may be a better option. It’s a good place to meet people in your classes and study, plus the rooms and building as a whole are quite nice (and have AC!).</p>

<p>Not much, but it was nice to be able to walk around campus for 2 days and sort of get situated. I met some people in my program during course selection which was nice.</p>

<p>At PittStart you may not meet your actual advisor. What they do is take you into a big computer lab, explain the sort of classes you need to take your freshman year, and then leave you there to sort out your classes you want to take and the electives you want to take for the fall semester. They just call you in one-by-one to talk to whichever advisor is available. My advisor was horrible and kept telling me that I couldn’t take the classes I wanted (3 UHC classes + Calc 3) because it would be too hard for me. Make sure you push them to sign up for the classes you want to take. Also make sure you know what your AP scores are so that you know whether or not you can skip certain classes (like physics, chem, or calc). </p>
<p>Also, you will need to take your placement tests (Algebra, Trig) before you go up.</p>
