From Africa to YALE(okay PLEASE chance me YALIES)

^yeah I have also applied to other schools.

If you go to yale.edu and take the virtual tour, there is a tab for number of international students per country. It says there is 1 person from Ethiopia, but there are others from africa.

also, (from yale site)

International students comprise 8% of enrollment at Yale College

Over 70 countries are represented in Yale College’s student body

International enrollment has doubled during the tenure of President Richard Levin

by the way, during the early action round, one person got already admitted from ethiopia - she is from Addis Ababa…just a little FYI

^Do you know her stats?Could you get me her email?
Thanks

no, i don’t know her, or her email
but even if I did it wouldn’t be appropriate to give away somebody else’s email and stats

Sorry.
^I just wanted what kind of stats Yale expects from Ethiopians.

I really like how they’ve made the virtual tour, but only complaint I have is that their stats are outdated.

This probably means that most (if not all) of the students enrolled back then already graduated!

I wish they updated it more often… I’d really like to know the current stats. :/

There are actually currently 3 Ethiopians at Yale (currently enrolled Yalies have more access to this information), 2 sophomores and 1 junior, all from Addis Ababa.

Also, boho_girl, the 1700 international students includes graduate and professional school students - it’s the only way the number could be that high.

i’m guessing it’s a certain school which systematically sends students @ Yale…the school is just a facilitator though! don’t interpret this as me suggesting that Yale is school-specific or has target regions…

^You got it.It is a very prestigious international community school.Too bad I do not attend the school.

You’ll get in. I applied also, but I dont think I’ll get in. If i did I’d be shocked/surpised. my stats

American born African (Not African American – theres a difference) male.
My interview went EXTREMELY well
1910 on SATs
4.017 weighted GPA… not even top 5% probably like top 7%
Writing is my strong point
a ridiculous amount of extracurriculars

If my academics and test scores were better I’d feel much more confident. I just wish I wasnt so lazy!

Well, guys what about the Yale School of Art Graduate admission

Pulled you files …you’re rejected!!! don’t freak out gashe
