I thought I was developing or had frozen shoulder earlier last week, but took LOTS of tumeric and massage and gentle range of motion exercises and it has cleared up. Not sure if it was a false alarm or I just nipped it before it got “full blown,” but I’m very grateful to have functioning shoulders again!
I also thought I was developing frozen shoulder again, this time on my right shoulder. The same intense pain, and it came on very suddenly, just like last time. This time I forced myself to stretch through the pain, and sort of brutally massaged the shoulder. I did some of my old PT exercises as well, and I’m just about pain free after only about 2 months. Last time, I tended to favor the shoulder, thinking I might have injured it and should let it rest, which only made it worse. Not sure if this was the real thing, but it sure felt like it.
I’m back…still struggling here. For those still trying to stretch it out something to try is an over the door pulley. Arm out straight and doing 2 sets of 10 holding for 8 seconds and lifting up from the side same set.
I have 5 more weeks before my next visit with the doctor to get to full range of motion or he wants to do another manipulation under anesthesia. The other surgery is working well, the frozen shoulder not so much. They say I’m doing everything I can, my shoulder seems to be rebelling and producing a sticky substance that is keeping my shoulder from getting full motion and my continued hand swelling is because I’m not getting full movement from my shoulder. I thought it was the other way around.
You poor thing! Hang in there, hopefully something will just click and your range of motion will quickly improve. Hugs
