HESC STEM Incentive

<a href=“NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - NYS Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Program”>http://www.hesc.ny.gov/pay-for-college/financial-aid/types-of-financial-aid/nys-grants-scholarships-awards/nys-science-technology-engineering-and-mathematics-stem-incentive-program.html

As part of the STEM scholarship, you must major in one of the qualified majors and you will have to work in a stem field in NYS 5 years after graduation or the scholarship becomes an unsubsidized loan, which has to be repaid.

DId you apply to one of the land grant colleges at Cornell (as the scholarship covers tuition at the statutory college on a qualified major). I would recommend checking these schools; Human Ecology, Agriculture and life science and ILR.

If they have your major at one of the land grant colleges; I would consider asking Cornell to switch your application to one of these schools. IF admitted and you major in a stem field, you would get free tuition.

good luck
