Fun courses at Cornell

NS 441 was probably my favorite class…the only problem is that NS 331 is a prereq. I really thought I was going to enjoy NS 331, but that class was difficult and I don’t feel it was well taught. Most of my friends who took 331 feel the same way about it.

You referring to Intro to Wines? I found the class to be easy and enjoyable. If you do the reading, go over the notes, invest in Take Note and don’t leave your studying until the night before…I can guarantee you will pass. The only difficulty I had with the class was remembering the difference between left and right bank Bordeauxs.

chendrix i challenge you with a GossipGirl theme!

tip: FSAD!

a course that could be used for the GossipGirl theme is a FWS i took called

Cultural Studies: Barbie, Bombs & Broadcasting

Anyone take any astro courses at Cornell? I’m super interested in outer space, but physics… not so much. Are there a number of courses that are interesting but stay away from physics? I read about one that has a lab where I’m assuming you use telescopes since it’s late in the evenings, but anyone have recommendations?

I recommend MATH 1350: The Art of Secret Writing. I haven’t actually taken it but it seems pretty easy.

[asinefakopoulos - MATH 1350: The Art of Secret Writing](http://www.math.cornell.edu/~web1350/)

The 60’s: The Radicalization of America

Aquatic Adventures: Exploring the High Seas

Gender Wars

Engineering Disaster: Natural and Human-Induced Horror

From russia with love (cold war)

twilight (special education, lol)

You can look up the median grade report for a semester if you’re looking for ‘easy’ classes…

For wines, its basically impossible to get in if you’re not a senior. Plenty of seniors don’t get in anyway. Intro to culinary is the same way.

Handgun class/trap and skeet is tons of fun (PE department) but classes are long (2 hours or more) and can fill up fast

Bump -
I’m bringing back this thread to hear more thoughts about classes for incoming freshmen…
what were your favorite classes besides those mentioned here?

Major: Darth Vader

CS 6700 - Advanced artificial intelligence (build C3-P0)
AEP 1100 - Lasers and Photonics (build your lightsaber)
PE 1526 - Renaissance Fencing (lightsaber combat)
COGST 4350 - Mind, Self, and Emotion (master the force)
HIST 6750 - Genocidal Regimes (turn to the dark side)

the easiest class in cornell is Egyptian civilization. I have like 10 friends in that class. The average for the exams is ~100+. Thats because he puts a lot of extra bonus questions to boost your grade, though no one needs it. For the final he lets you have a cheat sheet… (whats the point when the avg is 100…)

ECE476 - Designing with Microcontrollers

[ECE 4760](<a href=“ECE 4760”>ECE 4760)
