Yes, Prednisone is the precursor to prednisolone, and since body theoretically converts prednisone into * prednisolone* in order to utilize it, I was using one descriptor to cover hormones that replicate hydrocortisone.

I wasn’t writing a prescription, I was pointing out that it is a common treatment used for allergic reactions to muscle spasms to migraines, to lupus & asthma, and I was surprised that a compounding pharmacy would be the only place to find it. ( which I don’t believe it is)

I’ve had methyl prednisolone acetate three times this year- for totally different things, even though it is not good to use it that often, I really didnt have a choice.
:(

If you are filling per rx, then it is not manufacturing. It is when you fill for office supply that it becomes manufacturing. You can do it without getting a manufacturer’s license if it is <5% of total prescriptions i.e. the 5% rule.

i – Federal authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the practices at the company linked to a fungal meningitis outbreak that has led to 23 deaths, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick told reporters Tuesday.
In addition, the Board of Pharmacy has voted to revoke permanently the New England Compounding Center’s license to operate in Massachusetts as well as the licenses of the company’s three principal pharmacists, Patrick said.
