My daughter once forgot her laptop when flying back to college in NYC so I had to ship it UPS. Cost a fortune and we decided she could have bought a seat for it on AirTran and come out ahead!

And DH has a whole collection of nice ties he has bought in hotel gift shops when he forgot to pack one. I think he does it on purpose.

i once went on a camping trip with my family and 3 hours into the trip i realized i had forgotten my sleeping bag…it was a veeeerrrrrryyyy cold night!!!

WHen youngest D was off to her first sleepaway camp, I thought I was very clever, buying her new underwear, you know, the days of the week kind, figuring for a seven day camp, seven pairs of undies

well, lo and behold, while sortig her bag when she came back (she was 9) what do I discover

Hey!! This thread has been revived!! We just returned a week or so ago from a family event that required the aforementioned mandatory suit and tie. Younger son (whose previous packing disaster when it came to this mandatory suit thing is described in post #1) carefully checked to be sure his suit fit, that he had a shirt that he thought probably fit (buttons missing on the sleeve, but oh well… ) and the right shoes. Ok, sounds good, yes? So what did he mess up? He packed an old tie-- one of those “junior” sized ones. Its not a clip- on, but its reeeeally short. If he’d tied it correctly, it would have stopped above his navel. We laughed and laughed!! He ended up making it as long as possible and tucking the short end into his shirt (under the wider part of the tie) at the 1st button down from the neck. Did I mention he couldn’t button the collar button?? Too tight… Some things never change…
