Oh, wonderful, the LC campus is perfect for this! Low cost tickets to the ballet (as well as opera, theater, symphony etc) are available to Fordham students. My understanding is that the dance classes at the Fordham-affliliated Alvin Ailey are outstanding, and are available to non-majors, but that an extra fee is required ($496 per semester), but I would check to be sure when you do the tour.
Fordham is seeming more and more like the best fit. Congratulations!
When comparing them, consider factors such as location, curriculum, faculty, and opportunities for internships and networking.
Fordham, located in New York City, offers proximity to a major business hub with numerous networking opportunities and access to industry professionals. The Gabelli Schoolâs emphasis on global business and its strong alumni network can be beneficial for a student interested in marketing or global business.
On the other hand, the Wisconsin School of Business, located in Madison, offers a vibrant college town environment with a focus on experiential learning and research opportunities. Its renowned faculty and specialized programs in marketing and global business could provide valuable insights and skills for your sonâs career path.
I just wanted to offer my congratulations. I have a son who is in his second year at UW Madison and was directly admitted to the Wisconsin School of Business school, although his major is risk management and insurance. We live in Chicago, so it was a natural choice for us; however, based on the above posts I also think that Fordham would be the better fit (particularly after you mentioned ballet as an interest). Wisconsin is better known academically; however, it is a large campus with a sports/drinking culture (my son was involved with theater in high school and the arts are not a strong point at Wisconsin or in Madison, TBH). The class sizes are very large and the academics can be intimidating. Fordman seems much smaller if that is a concern.
I just wanted to let you all know that after visiting my son completely fall in love with Fordham! It is definitively the place where he fells he will thrive in and everything was perfect! Gabelli School of Business is competitive but not cutthroat. Warm environment, students are very collaborative and welcoming. Very international. The dorms at the Lincoln Center are like a fancy hotel room with an outstanding view of NYC. Lovely campus at Rose Hill, where he can take some classes. He can take dance courses in the Alvin Ailey program. The new president is an amazing woman and a great leader. And participating to the mass at Spring Review was very touching for us as Catholics.
Thank you very much to you all for your comments/suggestions/support. I am so happy my son has made his decision and I am sure he will have an amazing college experience at Fordham.
