CD-- I didn’t think I had a coordinator; I thought I was working with the woman who booked the venue. She had other ideas. It does bug me that she acted like she put the whole thing together when all she did was throw up roadblocks. Everything was totally coordinated and planned by me and D.

Asking about ingredients had nothing to do with anyone’s allergies since she did not have any communication with guests.

We did ask on invitations for who was vegan/vegetarian or had other dietetic needs. The caterer fixed special meals for the 6 who were veggie. No one indicated allergies, but then all of a sudden that night, three kids on the grooms’ side turned out to have nut allergies after ordering the choice that had nuts in it, so the caterer remade meals for them. Sigh. She was fantastic. But it would have been good to hear that earlier.

Ahhh, Garland, thanks for the update. Many of us have been vicariously following your thread…wishing for weddings but fearing them at the same time!
It sounds lovely. Good for you for rising above the officious official and concentrating on what was important…your D and SIL were relaxed and happy, your guests enjoyed themselves, and you and DH are still together with neither in jail for assaulting the OO.

Garland, GAK on the wanna-be coordinator! Glad you and D maintained control and had the wedding she and her H wanted. Cape May is glorious, and to have perfect weather – who could ask for more!

Garland, it sounds like a glorious day and that the wedding was a dream come true, just as your daughter and SIL wanted. It all came together and was joyous. Sorry for the coordinator who drove you nuts but luckily you were all able to relish in this very special day. Happy for you and for your D too.

Hi garland…I lost track of this in all of the chaos of my life this time of year. So happy that it all worked out so well ! You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot down in the Jersey Cape :)
