Gallbladder removal?

Here’s to a speedy recovery!

I was really bad. I had Kentucky Fried Chicken for Mother’s Day. I haven’t had it in years and probably won’t ever have it again!

Romani hasn’t posted for over an hour and a half. Here’s hoping she’s in surgery.

Hope so too, wishing her a speedy recovery!

Romani, glad you are in the hospital now. Hope the surgery is tonight and you will be on your road to recovery. Also glad to hear that your dad is there. Best of luck. Don’t be afraid to ask for pain medication.

I’m in recovery now. The surgery ended up being almost four hours. Not sure why. They told me but I don’t remember. It ended up being very complicated. I’ll update in the morning. Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts my way :)

Wow, this is the first I read of this. I know we are all hoping and praying for you to recover quickly and be able to go on vacation, eat whatever you want and go to school with no miseries! Please sleep well and let us know all when you are rested!

Glad all went well.

Four hours!!! Holy cow. Rest, romani. We can hear all about it when you’re feeling better.

I’m glad they were able to get you in and have it taken care of. I hope you feel better soon!

Hey Romani, hope this finds you feeling well and on the mend.

I’m doing ok. In quite a bit of pain even with dilaudid every three hours. They’re talking about keeping me an extra night because of how complicated it was. Oy

Only advice…listen to your doctors! It could take a couple of days to feel better, but you got through the surgery! Glad to hear that!!

Try to rest and relax!

Feel better!

Hooray! It’s out. Time to rest. Take it easy for at least a few days. You should feel a little better each day.

When you are up to it (no rush – we’re not going anywhere --) we’d like to hear why it was so complicated.

But first, get some rest.

Glad you’re ok. I hope your guy did a good job.

I’m a candidate for this surgery, but have been putting it off. Not sure if I can much longer.

I will say that I looked up some of the videos on youtube and elsewhere that detail the procedure. This, (like all surgeries, I believe) is a little more complicated than one might be led to believe, and its pretty clear that the good ol’ gallbladder isn’t just sitting there gift-wrapped for the surgeon to lift out. And its right there with some pretty important other stuff.

VH, I really don’t know myself yet what happened. The doctor won’t get here until afternoon (which is why I was able to get into surgery so late) and my dad is still home sleeping.

I believe that it was much bigger and in worse condition than he expected. I saw some pictures of the gallbladder last night and it was very large. Not to be gross, but I have a drainage bag coming out of my stomach which I don’t believe is typical.

I’m just very glad it wasn’t bad enough for them to slice me open.

Yes, very good that it wasn’t the open surgery and that they were able to do it laparoscopically. We are all pulling for you - both those of us who have had the surgery and those who are future candidates like dadx. Take it easy, rest up and get better soon. Glad it worked out as well as it did.

Get well soon, Romani. :)
