I’m a pretty DIY person. I mostly just print & frame in a black frame. I have done nails in the wall and command strips. All different size frames. I did switch out the kids’ school pictures as they got older but I think those are the only ones I switched. I have one big canvas print in the middle . It’s about 12x30 — a big landscape with a tiny H and the kids on a trail.
We’ve had a photo wall in our family room for years. Started with a big 16x20 collage frame with pictures of the kids from different vacation spots (taj mahal, collosseum, golden gate bridge, sydney opera house …) but then I started to add other pictures to the wall. Had pictures of grandparents and family portraits taken over the years (we had so many and it seemed like a waste to keep them in a folder/box). Added high school grad pictures. Every now and then, I changed out a few pictures.
Wall was always a conversational starter. Friends visiting for the first time, old friends always looked through the pictures and it was fun to see if old friends noticed any changes.
Picture frames were all similar, but not the same - and not identical in size either. Most of them were on the wall using command strips.
Now, we are planning to get the room painted, so I pulled off all the frames and they are sitting in one huge tote box from Costco. Not sure if I am going to put them back at all…
Both kids like my photo wall - they’ve done one at their place with mix tiles.
