Garage Door opener recommendations

Cars that are broken into in the gym car park etc will have your address in the paperwork in the glove compartment. It is a thing. It is like leaving your house keys in plain sight in your car.

We have a deadbolt locked door between our garage and the rest of the house. Somebody might be able to break into the garage after stealing our remote from our locked car somewhere, but they wouldn’t be able to get any further if they did.

I was thinking about this LOL, as I look over all the tools in our garage that would easily allow access to any deadbolt. Axes, saws, the chainsaw, router, power tools, hammers, etc etc all sorts of things that would easily remove a door. He could just cut a hole in the wall if the door was too awkward. Is it dead bolted when you are out, or just while you are in the house?

Don’t be so sure about a deadbolt preventing entry. A determined burglar can take their sweet time inside a closed garage to get into the house. Kill the main panel switch to disable any wifi and alarm devices and use whatever tools to slice through the drywall to get access to the house.

Yes, if they really want to, I am sure burglars can get into my house. The two sets of sliding doors out the back of my house and various other windows could be broken into as well as my back door (all of which are not visible from the road or neighbors.) My point is, garage entry doesn’t make it a slam dunk into my house. No power panels in the garage (they live in my basement). Not sure I have the right tools in the garage either but a determined burglar with his own tools would do fine getting into most houses.
