the letter gives an option to mail in all the information and after review of the information we’ll find out.

and for the people who didn’t receive an email:

maybe GMSP divided the nominees into individual clusters ran by different people. for those who got the letter, give the initials of the person who sent it.

the person who sent mines initials are: L.A.G.

Did anyone else get their’s from a guy named Larry A. Griffith? This name was written in the subjet of the e-mail that I received so I just wanted to make sure that it was legite…

I asked the other students who applied to Gates in my school if they’ve heard anything from GMS, and they said no. Both of them seemed like they could care less… They didn’t even think much about it. I hope GMS can distinguish between students who WANT this really badly with good intentions and students who could care less if they win or not.

Hey guys, it’s me again!
I read some of the posts from last year’s Gates Millennium thread again.

If you would like to check your status, call 1-877-690-4677, select 2, then 2 again. Afterward, the automated voice system will ask you to enter your social security # and your PIN (your birthday, example: January 1, 1988 would be 010188).
My status: they are still processing my information.

Also, last year some students got their notifications days or a week later. So let’s be hopeful! Good luck to all of us who haven’t heard from GMS yet and congratulations to those who got selected for the second phase! : )

I think everyone who advanced is going forward for the “selection phase”. I thought I had to write more essays, but it seems that they have already chosen who they want to win, hence no academic essays.

Since I won’t be in school for three days, I can’t fax my documents until Friday (oh well). But I have a question: in my email, it said that my counselor would have to fill out a GPA conversion sheet, but they didn’t send it as an attachment. Do I really have to fill this out?

Could somebody please e-mail me the GPA conversion sheet. My e-mail address is smithydocky@yahoo.com

I also have another question. Is anyone aware of how competitive it is from this point forward? I know the selectivity was initially 1 student out of every 11 that applied. Seeing as some people have been selected to advance in the process while some others have been cut, what is the current ratio? Is it about half of the original odds? Say, 1 out of 5 or 6?

If possible, could someone also e-mail me the conversion sheet? My email address is animeotaku15@aol.com. Thanks so much.

Hey guys, I just received me email from April R. If it helps any, her email address is @apiasf.org so I think they are possibly sending the emails out by organizations (I’m Asian).

Can someone please email me the conversion sheet as well? My email address is DonnaChan07@gmail.com, thanks!

aiiiie! still processing information says the toll-line!
btw, was anyone unsure as to what apply under? i was either hispanic or african american. i chose the latter.
