Gay Life at Tulane and William & Mary

OK Tulsadem and everyone else who has responded: I thought about this a lot yesterday and I have a final post. My comments were not meant to be hurtful or disrespectful, so I stand by my opinion that someone’s sexual orientation has very little to do with chosing a college.

I love William and Mary so jags comments got me a little “miffed”. Jag’s, what about Wilma and Mary??? Peace!

I will say this. Are there couples (gay) walking on campus holding hands and showing affection? Absolutely. Nobody appears to give it a second thought. It goes without saying that these couples are in the minority, but that speaks more to the number of gays vs. heterosexuals all around. My point is that if you are a gay couple holding hands on campus, it is not a major deal, nor should it be. We aslo have students walking around in turbans and in Muslim attire…no big deal. Welcome, be who you are…don’t flaunt anything about yourself, because it’s just not respectful. The best compliment I can say about William and Mary students is their acceptance of each other. There is no major “gay scene” at William and Mary, just students who are here to learn and have a good time, who just may happen to be gay.
