<p>From what I understand, Tulane has a very active and, as far as I can tell well supported by all, GLBTQ association. New Orleans is, as you say, well known for having one of the larger populations of GLBTQ in the country. To say New Orleans is in the South is only geographically true. Anyone can tell you it is nothing like the rest of the South, and really never has been.</p>
<p>I hope some students that belong to that community will post here for you, or on Facebook (possibly more likely on FB), but I don’t recall anyone ever coming on CC and identifying themselves this way like you have.</p>
