I’m a current student at Union, and I’d have to say that Union’s gay population is almost non-existent at this point. The GLBT organization is close to being disbanded due to lack of interest, since due to the homophobic emails sent around, two of Union’s gay population left the college and the remaining few are not very public with their views. In regular conversations with students, words like “gay” and “f****t” are used often as slang and derogatory terms.

If you are gay, or are mainly interested in the arts, Union may not be the college for you. Union’s arts department is relatively poor. As a general rule, if you’re not an athlete, you’re not going to fit in with 97% of the people you meet at Union.
