I have a (corded) phone that looks like your option 1. I’m not sure why I keep it, except that my mother bought it for my kids when there were very young, and paid quite a bit for it.
Orly was great when we were there for the Olympics.
That’s wild. Quite the turn around in a year.
Unless you’re flying in for a Star Wars convention.
Or a hello kitty convention ![]()
Or coming to San Diego for Comic-Con. Or with Hello Kitty, possibly Japan any time.
Heck, no one in Seattle will turn their head to take a second look, comicon week or not! ![]()
Don’t forget Dragon Con!
I realized last month that my passport was due to expire April 2025 so figured I’d better start early to renew it (especially since one never knows anymore if the government might shut down).
I submitted my application online on December 17, uploaded picture and all. The new passport arrived today. I am very impressed with the fast processing. The picture, not so much. It has the new black and white security picture on the info page, and a very washed out color picture on the facing page. I guess it looks enough like me?
I was pleasantly surprised that the new photo format improved the overall look of my submitted picture. Or maybe my bar was set in Hades from older passports. ![]()
Those familiar with the Newark airport - my daughter will be arriving there in June on an international flight. She then has a domestic flight back to our home state (likely United or American). Will she have to change terminals once she clears customs and gets her bag? She’ll have 4 hours in between flights, which I assume is enough time?
She she will need to clear customs/immigration and change terminals. 4hours should be plenty of time.
She probably will have to change terminals, but possibly not. It’s very easy, and 4 hours will be plenty of time.
It depends. If she’s flying in on United and her onward (domestic) flight is also on United, then it’ll all be at Terminal C and she won’t have to change terminals.
All other international flights arrive at Terminal B, but there are domestic flights departing from that terminal as well. So again, depending on her combination of airlines she may not have to change.
Even if she does need to change terminals, 4 hours is more than enough time. The terminals are connected by the “Air Train” (a monorail).
Does she have Global Entry? If so, it will take her less than 5 minutes to clear immigration and customs.
Great info - thanks! She will be arriving on Singapore Air and likely departing for her domestic flight on United - 2 legs booked separately.
Good to know there is a monorail. She will be traveling very light, so she won’t have a lot of luggage to drag around.
No Global Entry but she has the MPC app, which she used when coming back from her study abroad and it worked pretty well.
It’s as good as Global Entry, maybe better. I flew through customs with it, while there was a long line for GE.
She’ll need to claim any luggage and re-check it with United.
My daughter was traveling yesterday. Her 10:30am connection was cancelled, the next flight was 5:45 pm
They asked for volunteers to take the 8:45 pm, compensation went to $1200. The next step was to bump someone, she volunteered.
But there was a no show so she got on the 5:45 flight.
We forgot to ask, today she’s in meetings. Does she still get the $1200 and got on her 5:45 flight?
Air travel and weather, ugh!
