Geneseo vs Binghamton

Just some thoughts about Geneseo…

The focus at Geneseo is on undergraduate education including undergraduate research. Courses are not taught by Graduate students at Geneseo.

Even though Geneseo is considered a LAC the sciences have become very popular and strong academically over the years.

Geneseo has a new $53 million Integrated Science Center

Initial science classes are larger but that is true at any school but they get smaller as you advance in the program.

I do know for its size Geneseo graduates quite a number of physics majors.
Geneseo graduates more physics majors than any other SUNY school that offers the major on an exclusively undergraduate level.

Because of its size I think it is easier to get personal attention at Geneseo. At least I know that was my experience.

The College has some wonderful 3-4 Cooperative programs in Dentistry, PT, Engineering, Nursing, Optometry, Osteopathic Medicine and its BS/MD Program with Upstate Medical University-College of Medicine is a good program as well.

The science program is competitive but very strong.

There are a few current science majors on the geneseo section of CC who are responding to questions regarding the science program. You might want to post your questions there as well.

Good luck!! Both schools are well respected and great options.
