George Mason School of Music

I’m currently a senior in high school, and will be attending George Mason University to major in music education and jazz performance in the fall. I will also be participating in the honors program. I play double bass and trumpet, and hope to major on both. I play jazz and classical music extensively. That being said, what has everyone heard of George Mason University’s School of Music?

The National Trumpet Competition was held there every summer for the last 20+ years. Next year the NTC will move to Messiah College in Grantham, PA. The facilities at GMU are quite nice and the few faculty we met there during NTC were pleasant and knowledgeable.

My daughter performed a concerto with their wind symphony last month. The band played very well and she liked the conductor and students a lot. Many famous musicans and composers come through there frequently.

basstrumpet, I have added this acceptance to the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1427644-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2013-a-52.html

If you have other acceptances we would like to add those too, even for schools you will not attend. Congratulations.

BassDad, you can also add Ithaca College, Mason Gross School of the Arts for Rutgers University, Rowan University, University of Delaware, Moravian College, and The College of New Jersey. Thank you!
