Georgetown University Transfer 2019

Do we think they will release two waves in a week?

@polyscidreamer Hopefully, I would love to know this week too.

this whole process is pretty draining tbh, i wish we’d be able to hear back sooner than the middle of finals prep

@ethanissavage agreed. super unfortunate

Does anyone know what happens if we applied for both fall and spring?(indicates that I didnt have a preference )

@99suhjw they consider you for fall first and if they decide not to admit you for fall then they consider you for spring

The 8:20 emails are probably pre-set

Hey everyone,

I just got this response in response to my early-read request. I applied to Gov’t in the College. I’m not sure if this means that the other responses from the College are coming that late.

ā€œX

Thank you for your email. We completely understand that other schools have varying deadlines for receiving a response from you. Will you be available on Tuesday, May 7 at 2:30pm for a brief check-in call? I may be able to give you an update at that time.

All the best,
Xā€

They did have about 300 more applicants than they had last year, so I’m not surprised if decisions are coming out later, especially for majors that GU is famous for, like Gov’t and SFS majors.

Does anyone know how I should feel about this response? Do y’all think it’s pretty neutral? I guess I’ll find out in about a week. I’ll be sure to update y’all

How many candidates do Georgetown have for this year’s transfer?
And would it be easier to be accepted as sophomore?

@Ashtash I think it’s definitely positive. I don’t think they’d bother calling someone who they plan on rejecting as they’d be susceptible to complaints/begs by the applicant… also it’d be pretty awkward. I also think if they were planning on rejecting someone they’d just tell them outright and not waste anyone’s time.

Anyways, good luck

@Ashtash just got the same exact email with a 2:40 call appointment – good luck!

So since they told you to schedule for a call on May 7 so I assume that the majority of people will hear back on their applications on or after that?

Or otherwise it would not be an early read

@1wosba given that we’re both gov applicants (who typically hear back first) that’s probably a safe bet.

who do I email if I want an early read lol

@Ashtash and @transferstdnt99, when did you email Georgetown about the early read? I did last week but unfortunately haven’t heard back yet.

Are we expecting decisions today at 8:20?

No one really knows, unfortunately. It could come out at any time on any day.

@bvbchamps I just emailed the transfer admissions email
