The link should be on the admitted students portal!
We are headed to Tufts for a visit soon. What did you like about it?
I actually didn’t visit Tufts. It was my daughter and my wife. Just asked her:
Liked the overall vibe - Very progressive and accepting
ex college - can take classes and try new things
Beautiful campus
Fun traditions
International focus
Near Boston but not in Boston, so get best of both worlds
Has possibility of direct admit to Tufts medical school
Hope that helps!
Yes! Thank you for asking. D is also waitlisted at Georgetown and trying to decide whether to accept a spot.
To OP: Are you looking for opportunities to work in communities/doing field work? What about research? I would say that at Tufts those opportunities are definitely there. They very much want undergraduates to do research. When looking at Georgetown it did not appear that it was as easy. Georgetown did promote community service.
Beyond vibe you should delve into what academic experiences are important to you and how your colleges would support them.
Edit: sorry, missed your comment about Georgetown’s research semester. I think you are on the right track looking at research, intern opportunities.
Hey everyone! Just a quick update- I ended up choosing Georgetown, so I’ll be a Hoya next year! I realized talking to some students at Emory that Atlanta wasn’t a place I would want to spend the next four years. Tufts ghosted me twice when I signed up for their jumbo chats, and the admissions office was dismissive when I raised the issue with them, so that left quite a negative impression. Thanks to everyone that replied!
Good luck and enjoy the rest of your senior year! Thanks for updating everyone!
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Hoya Saxa!
@Adactus congrats! I’ll see you around in the Fall! I’m also a first year who is going to study Global Health on the premed track!
irgendwi3 - Question for you please: What are your thoughts about Georgetown splitting NHS into School of Health and Georgetown School of Nursing? My understanding is this happens in July. My daughter is very interested in the pre-med track (not exactly sure which major at this point) but is also very globally oriented, 2 foreign languages, dual citizen, etc. Knowing that, do you have any advice between applying to the college or the new GSH? thanks.
Awesome! Mind if I pm you?
One of the great things I’ve heard about the NHS, soon to be GSN and GSH, is that it has an incredible sense of community. With the NHS about to split, I think the premed community at the new GSH will be even more tight-knit, a huge plus for premed. Even though the College does have a lot of premeds too, it won’t have the same feel of a collaborative community as the NHS does, as the Global Heath Major has only 30-40 admits each year with most of Global Health Majors being premed.
Sure! Sorry for the late reply.
