I know Adenike from my time at Harvard. She has succeeded in many of Harvards hardest classes, almost always scoring in the top half of the class in spite of taking an extremely taxing schedule. Unfortunately, many of you picked a truly brilliant student to trash for AA on the basis of her SAT alone. Adenike is the most dedicated worker I know and deserves to be where she is today.

I happened to see this and felt compelled to comment, if only to correct a few inaccuracies.

Well, this is actually false. There was a H/P admit in 2001; that particular student chose Princeton.

That is very true; I believe she graduated with the highest GPA in the school’s history.

This is a very inspiring story; having come from the same high school as she did, I can honestly say that what she accomplished was no small feat, given the nature of the school.

Whooo, sorry for the major necro (long time lurker here), but I just stumbled across this thread…but does anyone know if that girl is related to the guy on here?

if so, their parents must be doing something right lol :P

Update, she graduated from Harvard in 2009 and now she is at Northwestern medical school.

Those bringing AA into this should go get a life. These are truly outstanding kids.
Follow the link above. No amount of jealousy / bitterness on cc will stop them. That’s just life.

babyruth is right. they are siblings. As ana1 said the older sibling who is studying medicine at Northwestern is also concurrently getting a PhD in Biomedical engineering. From the link babyruth posted, apparently the brother got into Harvard too (as well as other ivies) but he opted for Duke because he was named an AB Duke scholar which is a prestigious award.Check out this link [Duke Announces Winners of A.B.
