If you want to track “shouldas”, the Niners should have had two interceptions when two Niner defenders ran into each other on “sure-thing” interceptions on throws by Manning.

I liked Steve Tyler too. His hair was particularly hideous. I wish he had gone into his rock star shriek even more. People on the radio were laughing about it today though, saying he would have been booed off American Idol.

Luck is definitely part of the game, but I think the SF collision on what should have been an interception was not so luck-involved. The one guy was bolting towards the football, must have seen a player there but didn’t know it was his own teammate, and went for one of those brutal helmet-to-helmet collisions figuring he would wouldn’t be hurt as much as the other guy and it would be called a “clean hit”. If the NFL would just ban helmet-to-helmet collisions we wouldn’t be seeing a guy being taken off the field and out of the game (again), and maybe SF would have gotten that ball.

I agree we can not track shoulda’s but you also can not back track on dids. Plays count.

That was one bad collision. At first, I was thinking it might be one of those catastrophic injuries. Thank goodness it wasn’t.

Still…OUCH. I bet his family was watching and nearly had a collective heart attack.
