Gift ideas for big sister's big birthday

ditto on a Kindle- but spring for the middle, not low end, model. I got mine as a Christmas present the year it came out because H sent son working at Amazon the latest one that came out the month of his birthday a few years ago (kid never responded to queries about what he wanted). Son bought his own a few weeks before said birthday and never returned the gift one- he gave it to me since the return date had passed. Later I gifted that one to H’s aunt when she visited and got the later version for my birthday that month. Love the dimmable lighting and not needing ambient light for reading- especially in a shared hotel room. Takes a lot less space than real library books!

Wow @morrismm …are those kids even speaking to their Dad after he burdened them with that debt? What a slimy story

Money or it’s equivalent is a very helpful gift for folks who may be financially uncomfortable (poor). It’s silly and ironic to have lots of lovely vases and trinkets and be worried about paying rent, grocery, medical or other bills.

No coralbrook. He and his kids have no interaction. He now supports one  of the kids of one of the women he had an affair with. He married this one. This kid just got his license and was given a brand new SUV. But he abandoned his three biological kids.

And I agree HImom. The last thing my sister needs is more things. She moved from a 6 bedroom, 7 bathroom three story house with an indoor pool, sauna and three car garage to a 3 bedroom townhouse with one car garage.

You think she might have needed to get rid of some stuff?? The stuff she could not move could have filled at least one other house.

But she does need a second car. So money would help towards the down payment.
