Actually my 3 loves my Magic Bullet and has appropriated it from the nether regions of my cupboard. For a smoothie or protein shake lovin kid this is actually a great idea. Mine also go through headlamps like crazy. Often they wrap them around their bikes for extra safety then they need another one for their head and they seem to always ask for new headlamps.

thanks bookworm!! i read the reviews too and they looked good…ordered tonight.

ok… here’s one for all of you…S2’s xmas list had “soft or geeky clothes” geeky is not a problem…lots of geeky tshirts out there…but what would you suggest for soft clothes?? he really likes soft tshirts, but could that mean a robe (flannel or terry?), and what/where are the softest tshirts or does it mean things like cashmere sweater???

parent56:

Long-sleeved plaid flannel shirts are “soft” as are many t-shirts; check an American Eagle store or website for such clothing for young men. Macys also has Timberline flannel shirts on sale frequently.

thanks mom4college!

My son wants airline tickets so that he can travel during breaks. Hmm…

Limabeans…if you are still reading this thread do you have a recommendation on the brand of chin up bar you have? I’ve been looking at these a bit and am hesitant for safety reasons - sounds like you have had a good experience with yours. Thanks.

I have a son much like yours. Check out Campmor. They have a lot of ideas & outdoor gear, gadgets, & clothing for a guy like your son.

How about a set of silk long underwear? They are extremely soft, lightweight & warm for outdoor winter activities.

parent56…FYI…Costco’s flyer for 12/1-12/18 has the Cuisinart Griddler for $15 off, limit of 3…

My DS has requested Bose Quiet Comfort 15 noise cancelling headphones - to help block out the frat house din - if we can’t get him the new IPhone. (I think his current contract doesn’t expire until spring.)

My DS asked for a scooter, which will get him around campus faster than walking, but can be folded up and taken indoors with him, so it won’t get stolen like a bicycle. It needs to be adult size with big wheels, like a Razor A5.

gosmom… afraid no costco near me…but think i did alright…were on sale at sears and then ebates gives 10% cash back.
