<p>For my daughter’s male friends, we bought a nice tool kit from IKEA. It was basically a starter set in a nifty orange case. I think it cost about $15.00 and would fit the bill for a dorm room, apartment, or even first house.</p>

Alarm clock – too complex to turn off and he uses cell phone alarm and uses the alarm clock just as a clock
3-in-1 jacket (water-proof shell, polarfleece zip-in lining)
Goretex lowcut hiking/cross-training shoes for walking around on rainy days (otherwise all he has is one pair of running shoes and a pair of dress shoes)</p>
