<p>Kind of in the same vein (hypocrisy), the Bush administration is now claiming it fired one of the ousted US attorneys not for political reasons but for absenteeism–due to the former JAG lawyer’s 40 days a year service in the Naval Reserves. The US attorney allegedly fired for serving in the military is responsible for enforcing the laws against employers firing workers for serving in the military.</p>

<p>So, Jerry Fallwell now is embracing Newt, and said Newt saought God’s forgivenesss…so I guess if God forgives, well that should be the end of that</p>
<p>How is it that “religious” people can do something crappy, and can say, well God forgives me…and we know this how? oh yeah, cause they SAID so…</p>

<p>Newt is scum. Pure and simple. Any man that can’t let his wife recover from cancer before he dumps her more than qualifies.</p>
<p>I don’t jump into the political fray much, but Newt is one who inspires me to pure hatred.</p>
<p>Clinton pales by comparison; I don’t think much of him either, but he really isn’t at the same level of degradation as Newt.</p>
<p>Jerry can do that for Newty…they have same diameter.</p>
<p>This particular affair wasn’t particularly “crappy”. What is “particularly crappy” is his desertion of sick wives to take up with new squeezes. It is a sign of a man who can’t face adversity in his own family, or deal with illnesses, and to my mind should raise grave doubts as to whether he can be trusted to deal with a nation’s fortunes whenever things aren’t going right.</p>
<p>He may, or may not, have good ideas; he may, or may not, be an intelligent man. But he’s not one that should be entrusted with the security of a country.</p>
<p>(Note: he deserted the first wifey who had cancer in the early 80s. But he also deserted the second wifey in 1999 after she was diagnosed with MS.)</p>
<p>well, its the idea that if you are religious, you can do bad things, and claim that God forgave you, and then we are al supposed to go, okey dokey,who are we to doubt that? to not trust God?</p>
