cell phone most necessary… verizon has the best service. laptop recommended over desktop so you can take it elsewhere if necessary. printer also recommended.

i have a fridge, tv, dvd player, and gamecube in my room, but theyre all luxeries. the fridge is useful. i wish i picked up a microwave or microfridge, but i just use a friend’s microwave instead.

Instead of getting a printer for yourself, I would recommend sharing a printer with your roommate, which is what I’ve been doing this year and last year too. I also get free printing in Boelter Hall, though, as a registered member of ESUC. :)

Do we feed a fan or something for the summer in the res halls (No ACs).
My mom is telling me to take a fan??!!
Will I need one, she is afraid that i would melt or something.

nah fan’s not really necessary. its hottest in the summer, so if you actually plan on living during summer session, then get a preview during orientation, since orientation takes place in the summer too.

oh yea share things with your roommates. for example, i brought the fridge, another roommate brought the tv, and the third brought the gamecube and dvd player.

if you mean rent a laptop - yes you can do that, for free, from UCLA CLICC lab in Powell. They have wireless connections and such, but you can only rent them for a certain period of time.

are there any rules we should know when bringing a microfridge in the dorms? Like is there a specific wattage the microfridge is required to follow?
