Got in with low SAT?

beastmaster - You’re right, I think. UCLA reports “average GPA” in different ways for different purposes. I’ve seen figures from 4.12 to 4.25; I think the 4.17 one is in fact “UC admissions” GPA (i.e. capped at 8 semesters of weighted grades) of students who were admitted in 2004. The average of students who enrolled will normally be lower. Uncapped GPA of those admitted should be higher. Franchise1 should still be right in the mix, though.

Kluge, if you’d be so kind, do you have an e-mail address that you’d trust to PM me or else contact me via either PM or e-mail? I wanted to drop you a brief private line or two on a topic of mutual interest. If so, thanks. If not, 'sokay.

Oooh, TheDad - you are such a tease. Seduced by your promises, I drop my guard, open my PM option, give you my e-mail address… and for what? You don’t call, you don’t write… I feel so used…;)

kinda off topic but…

i read somewhere that the new SAT writing portion is graded on a harsher scale than the SAT II, so 2020 with the old SAT portion wouldn’t actually be 2020 but lower with the new SAT writing portion… so the OP should worry much…

or… i might be wrong.

I got in with a really low SAT. I got a 1330 and a 740 on writing, so that’s basically a 2070 on the current SAT.

I got in with a 1320, and a 730 on writing, and also realize that that ISN"T FREAKING LOW. Also, there’s more to it than standardized test scores.

for those who got in with around 1300’s, that was about the average back then, so i dont think that’s really low. low would be maybe 1100s.

how bout like around an 1190, equivalent to a 1790 on the new sat?
