To Cali Trumpet: The biggest thing I have against the macbook pros is the dramatic increase in price. I mean, sure, it is a better machine but do I really want to spend $1000 more for a couple more inches of screen size and a ultrafast processor that will never be pushed? Also, the pros, because of their bigger size, tend to be less transport-friendly. The macbook’s screen is just right in that I can carry the macbook around and still settle down to watch a movie on it comfortably.

May I ask what kind of photo manipulation you will be doing? If it’s something for a business, go for the pro. The graphics card will help. However, the macbook’s graphics card isn’t half bad either. Just depends on how intense the applications you will run are.

I have nothing against people with macbook pro’s, don’t get me wrong. If you have the extra disposable income, go for it. I just don’t understand why people buy $2000+ laptops only to check their email with it and chat on AIM. As if college wasn’t expensive enough right? :]
