Got some questions regarding the major and honors program

Howdy Cityman!

Honors Students do have a priority registration assignment, but this is a process that takes place during pre-registration each fall and spring. Your son will have access to this when he is registering for Spring 2014 classes. See [Registering for Honors](http://honors.tamu.edu/Honors/Registration.html#HPR) for more information.

There were some additional ENGR 111 Honors seats that opened this past week, so you might visit with the folks in the College of Engineering about whether or not your son might be able to get forced into the appropriate section. The Math department has been doing some limited forcing into MATH 151, too, but you would need to contact them to see what is possible.

Our advisors will work with your son to ensure that he has a workable plan to meet distinction requirements. If a student doesn’t meet the 6-hour requirement, it prompts a meeting with an advisor to ensure that the student is still planning to complete the distinction and to help make sure they have a plan to do so.

Hope this helps!

Also, to avoid continuing to derail Rohank’s thread, I’ve created another thread where you can ask more questions about Honors as you have them:
