grad dinner in Pasadena/San Marino

By far the best restaurant I know of in the area is the Parkway Grill, which is a bit expensive and formal, though.

Also, for any formal, high-class restaurant in Pasadena, I would make reservations as soon as possible (particularly for a fri/sat night) even if it’s far in advance.

Sadly, mathmom, La Parisienne has closed. We loved that place. It was “old school” continental and we enjoyed many a “date night” there.

S has requested Brazilian, Thai or Chinese (finally reachd him). Thanks for these suggestions. Any others? Unfortunately, none of us have JPL or CalTech connection (tho he had hoped to get hired there).

That’s sad (about La Parisienne), yes it was very old fashioned, but in a good way. They did nice wine tasting dinners which is why we started going there in the first place. That’s the trouble with the internet, things stay up that shouldn’t be there!

Saladang Song (mentioned earlier) for Thai and for Chinese…head out to San Gabriel.

thanks. will mention these to s.

I’ll second musicamusica’s Getty center recommendation. Would downtown work, or is that too far to go?

Bummer about Twin Palms. :(
