<p>To give you a general sense: The vast majority of the locations on that map are a few blocks from President Obama’s Hyde Park home, at Greenwood and East Hyde Park, and they are all in the directions considered “safer” from there (i.e., east and south). None of the places in that area are going to feel as safe as, say, Palm Beach, but none of them are going to be horrible, either. By and large, the ones that are closer to the center of Hyde Park (but not right on 55th) are likely to be more desirable and more expensive. The buildings south of the Midway will probably feel sketchier, although as I understand it they have moved the University Police headquarters to right there, so that should have a pretty salutary effect on actual safety.</p>
