Just because you are getting Bs on quizzes does not mean much in the long run. For AP classes you can average a 60 on major tests, and still pull out an A in the class and a 5 on the exam.
As a freshman, you still have a lot of time to figure out high school. And admissions officers often hardly look at freshman year - Stanford for example has a policy where they do not consider it at all.
