grades prior to transfer

If you get 2 C’s more than likely both Berkeley and UCLA will rescind your admission, especially if those courses happen to be major pre-reqs. If they are not major pre-reqs you might be able to get away with it if you have a good explanation and get in touch with the admissions office.

Math is not a particularly impacted major at either of those Universities, so if you have one C and you keep your semester gpa over 3.0 you might have a chance.

And finally, there is absolutely no way your overall gpa would still remain at a 3.90 if you get 2 Cs, even if you have a 4.0 now. I had a 4.0 until recently. With about 22 courses (84 units) completed- 20 of them with A’s, I just got 1 C and 1 B and my gpa plummeted to ~3.85. Cs are gpa killers. 2 Cs would most likely bring your gpa to between 3.65 and 3.75 depending on how many courses you have completed with As (the more courses, the less the impact on the gpa)
