<p>hswrestling’s post summs it up pretty well. Here’s my take</p>
<p>Frats:
Wawa - Almost entirely football players, and all but four or five players from the team aren’t in the frat. Huge house, but close to campus, right next door to Pike
Pike - Close to campus, frequently has parties, good basement, lots of fun. Just had a great pledge class this past year.
Fiji - Used to be the big frat on campus back in the late 80’s, but doesn’t have a house anymore, which makes it hard to get noticed (not having a house is nearly a death sentence)
Beta - Close to campus, has good parties. Brothers are very chill, and have a solid house. Had no seniors this past year since they all went to AEPi.
AEPi - The Jewish frat, great group of kids. The problem is that their house is in a residential area and neighbors always call the cops on their parties.
SAE - Far away from campus and don’t have great parties. Basement is always packed to the point where its not a good thing. Problem is that Loyola and Towson kids keep showing up at their parties. Had a small pledge class this past year.
Phi Psi - Water Jerks (i mean polo players) pledge here and they did have a huge pledge class this year. Smoke a lot of herb, but had a great party with live music this year.
Sig Ep - Huge frat, great house, constant parties and game night. In my opinion had a pledge class with a lot of jerks.
Sig Chi - Were banned for a party, and are recovering. Parties are ‘alright’.L
Lambda - Asian frat. Have never heard of them having a party. May or may not have house - virtually no presence on campus.</p>
<p>Sorrorities in my mind are an enigma. They don’t have houses, and it just seems like you’re paying to be friends with people with certain handbags. You can read all about that on jhuconfessions.com
I don’t know that much about the sorrorities themselves, but here’s my take
Kappa - Hot attractive girls and athletes. “popular” sorrority
Phi Mu - Kappa but not as extreme.
APhi - Some fugly girls, mostly very nice though
Kappa - Not heavy partiers, moderate girls, some good looking</p>
<p>As far as athletics and frats, Hopkins athletes tend to have more fun than the average student. Its very noticable at Hopkins. So many non athletes join frats as a way to emulate that fun, which is fine. But then again, I think the school may be trying to prevent another wawa* from developing by not allowing athletes in certain sports to pledge.
*wawa, being all football players, has a noticeably poor reputation.</p>
