“Merit” scholarships are only half the equation. You need to look at the net price after accounting for FA and any possible merit. Beware the over priced schools which advertise the generosity of aid but whose net price is still very high. Your filter should be the $35,000 that your family can afford and for proper financial comparison, any loan amount in FA in the NPC should count for these purposes as no aid at all.
