GW or TCNJ?

I intend on majoring in a science but i dont know which one to pick. I love the city and GW fits that perfectly while tcnj is in the middle of nowhere. But i heard tcnj gives a really good education. Im stuck can anyone help?

bumppppppppp

not sure what to tell you. Science is not that strong as a field inhere, although classes are vere hard in thal category. I really know nothing about TCNJ programs

so its very challenging the classes? but is still a good school for sciences? i kno gw is known for politics but is the sciences just good

Hey, I’m actually a student at TCNJ right now. Sciences are very strong at TCNJ…and because it’s a smaller, liberal arts school, your chances at research are probably much better at TCNJ than at a university as big as GW. I have friends who are doing research with professors as second-semester freshmen. It’s definitely much easier to stand out as an individual here. I don’t know how strong the GW sciences are, but it’s definitely one of the larger major areas at TCNJ.

Hope that helps!

There are definitely great research opportunities in the sciences at GW. this has been discussed recently:

I don’t know anything about TCNJ…

My alma mater is Trenton State (TCNJ) and I absolutely loved the school when I attended. However, now that my kids have friends who are there, I can tell you that 3 out of four of them have transferred out of the engineering dept. for several reasons: 1) professors were difficult to understand and not readily available to students when extra help was needed 2) administrative apathy and difficulty with registration in order to graduate in 4 years. 3) zero social life with very few students staying on weekends 4) Not enough concerts/entertainment and activities planned for students so most go home on weekends. 5) a sleepy surrounding town. Now of course you will find many students who are thrilled with their experience. I’m just sharing this as food for thought. There are other threads on CC you may find helpful. Good luck in making your decision!
