Hair Dryers

The cutting edge of hair drying tech… Get it - if you can find one!

I like the Costco one, it took me a few weeks to get used to it at first, but now i love it. Often there is a $5 off coupon.

Target has an under $20 Revlon dryer I like. Good power plus a turbo function for even more air. I think it is funny how today’s technology is geared to decreasing frizz- My perfectly smooth and won’t hold a curl hair is now in style…

I have a feeling that my hair dryer is going to kick the bucket soon, amazingly it has lasted 16 years of being dropped on the tile floor at least once a day, and I am researching the new tech. The Dyson thing looks super cool, should make a good gift for my upcoming b-day… But it is $400 in the US and is not available until the fall, and the UK models are different voltage!!!

So when the old Conair dies… A new $25 Conair will step into its place.

I have a revlon hot air brush kit thing, like this http://www.target.com/p/revlon-shine-enchancing-hot-air-kit/-/A-12935914 that I use to blow out and brush my hair simultaneously. I also have a regular erzatz blowdryers that I use with a handheld brush and then finish with a flatiron. But with the brush attachment thing, I sometimes don’t need the flatiron, or maybe just for a minor touch-up.

Have been considering one of these brush things. Anyone have it? Thoughts? http://www.sallybeauty.com/simply-straight-brush/SBS-752010,default,pd.html#start=10

Just looked through the Nordstrom Anniversary catalog and I thought of this thread. They have a “T3” dryer on sale from 200 to 139, I believe.

It takes my stylist the exact same amount of time to get my long straight hair dry with her super expensive dryer that my cheapo Conair dryer from walmart does.

I recently purchased another Conair from Bed, Bath @ Beyond using coupons and it was under $20.
If you don’t use a hairdryer often I heard it is best to dry your hair with a tshirt instead of a towel to eliminate frizz.

I prefer 1800 watts

I have a Remington Pro that I’ve had for 8 years, use almost every day, and it’s still going strong. No high-pitched whine, has 3 heat settings, 3 blower settings, and cool blast. Got it for about $40-65, IIRC, at Walmart.

Jym - that brush looks interesting. It is only $40 and returnable, apparently. Good reviews, too.

@BunsenBurner There are several models /versions of that brush, including an “as seen on tv” one. I have a hair arsenal already, and am reticent to buy more!

I see! It definitely looks interesting. I wonder if it will work for fine hair. I got a rotating as seen on TV brush/iron thingy as a gift and did not use it - I do not curl or style my hair! This brush is supposed to smooth hair. I might give it a try.

I have a wall mount hairdryer- conair or sunbeam- like the hotel kind. I like that I don’t have to mess with plugging in and the cord.

Why don’t they have hands free dryers readily available? I am horrible at holding the dryer in one hand and styling with the other. I have frizzy hair but only dry a small section of bangs and let the rest air dry. I loved my dorm in college- we had those large hand dryers that bathrooms have, mounted high on the wall so you could stand under them and use both hands to style. Or just stand there and have your hair dry straight in a matter of minutes.

90% of the time I use my car’s vents to dry my hair on the way to school in the morning (it takes me an hour to get to school).

I have the magic setting-full blast top vents, 76 degrees, a/c on. I get to school and my hair is totally dry. I’ll brush it at the stoplights. People give me funny looks-I’m like Beyonce with my own wind machine in the car :D.

I use a BaByliss Pro, ceramic dryer. It drys very fast, no frizz. $60, no shipping at Bed Bath and Beyond, you can use a 20% coupon too.

@jym626 I just ordered the brush! I’m tired of putting my hair up in a ponytail. I’m hoping this dryer/brush will motivate me to style my hair more often. Thanks for the tip!

Please report back on how you like it! Which one did you pick?
