Halloween Fun

This was this weekend in my neighborhood: https://www.ocregister.com/2018/10/27/surfers-in-halloween-costumes-take-over-newport-beach-waves/

We have a big “creepy” dinner for Halloween and everyone comes in costume… there’s a contest for the best ones, and then pretty much everyone goes trick or treating. I LOVE Halloween!

Well, it has been pouring here all day and we are supposed to have heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail and possible tornados tonight. Kids seem to be going to indoor carnivals or early trunk or treats but we will see. A neighbor two blocks from us always does a huge haunted house and the kids go past our house to get to that street. I have candy and a costume for my papillon. Daughter has class tonight and S17 just messaged me and said he has a physics 2 test tomorrow so no Halloween activities in college for him tonight. My boss did bring in candy and people here or there are dressed up. The IT lady had on elf ears.

As a kid, our favorite thing was Mischief Night, the 30th. I grew up in a neighborhood full of kids and we ran crazy, the adults were tolerant.

One year, my mother filled a surgical glove with dry ice (imagine her trying to buy that at the pharmacy) and had kids shake her “hand.”

Not many kids in our current neighborhood. None came last year (the neighbor kids went off to other parties.) It’s rare here that Halloween night is above the 30’s. Tonight will be in the 50’s.

A patrol car from the local PD just rolled by playing the theme song to “Halloween” on the PA. >:)

Speaking of candy I am thinking of getting this yardstick of Twix for the holidays.
