I’m not sure if it’s really worth arguing because usually these debates just get locked by the mods pretty quickly anyway. </p>
<p>That said, I think we can probably all agree that the UN sucks. A lot. They ignore current problems such as the conflict in Darfur and have not really been successful at keeping international peace in the past either. It will be interesting to see how the battles in the Middle East play-out. There’s been a lot of turn-overs recently with palenstine’s leader dying last year and Ariel Sharon not being able to continue leading Israel. Now with Hamas coming to power and Israel’s elections coming up soon too, we can hope that maybe the conflicts will cool down with new leaders. I know that I hope to protect my homeland one day by serving in the IDF, but it is a battle I wish I did not have to fight. I wish the Palestinians would be happy with the land we’ve already given them.</p>
