At Hamilton and most other schools, you have to take the exam for a class in a specific classroom at a set time and day with the instructor present.

I can’t imagine what this belief would be based on. Hamilton maintains an active honor code:

Peer proctoring is stronger in schools like Hamilton College [compared to other schools mentioned], where a small gesture has a great effect. Its honor code mandates that if you see cheating, you tap your pencil on your desk to warn the cheater and communicate to the room that, right now, we are all being cheated.
