Hard stats on Trustee, Presidential and Dean scholarships?

I really liked reading this article. Thanks for posting the link sfgiants. Not everything written may be absolute fact, though, even though they are quoting the adcoms themselves. LOL. Wow, don’t I sound like the skeptic?

But since they invite less than 300 to interview for Trustee (there are only spots for 150 interviewees in each of 2 Trustee Explore session and not every session is fully attended–one recent year only 258 showed up to interview for Trustee) , and offer Trustee to less than that since not everyone interviewed will receive it, how can ~140 matriculated students taken from maybe 200ish? is 45% yield? I’m no math whiz, so perhaps I’m getting dizzy? The numbers for Presidential and NMF look a little wonky too when compared to # interviewed and past year recipients, so it’s hard to say what to make of it. I noticed Brunhold was quoted as saying they invited 1100 to interviews this year, but in the letter sent to applicants, didn’t they quote the number as 1000?

Not that any of this makes much difference, really. We try to pick up clues as they come.
