My best advice is to attend a good small LAC, such as Bowdoin, for your undergraduate education and then a larger research institution, such as Harvard, for graduate school. It’s like having the best of both worlds. It’s very telling how many parents that work at top universities in the administration or faculty and CEO’s of major companies send their children to a school like Bowdoin. I personally know several. Bowdoin and its peers focus exclusively on their students and that makes quite a difference.
