Hard to register for classes?

Okay, to clear some things up–I originally was in the mood that I wouldn’t be ready for college calculus. I took Calc AB in high school, and even though I got a 5 on the AP exam I received a low B in the AP class itself.

So I was understandably pretty scared when I had to take Math 31B here. I was an econ major and I would have to go up against engineers on the curve–right? So I worked really hard in the class, and guess what? I passed with flying colors. I went in the final ranked number one in the class, out of 140 people (originally 180 but lots of people drop the class as it goes on). On the two midterms, I got 30% above the mean on both of them, setting the curve.

I don’t even consider myself good at math. As long as you take the material and the class seriously, and work accordingly , you will have NO problem doing well. Trust me.

Well then…I amend my comments previously made;

if you’re dedicated, it should be more managable.

And again, GE requirements for UCLA are on page 2, last post.

wow, eiffelguy87, and ur a freshman applying to UCLA? hmm

:rolleyes: 31B is nothing compared to 32b :P

haha. that’s why im an econ major. and being #1 in 31B isnt bad for me considering i haven’t gotten an A in any math class since 7th grade.

my friend who pretty much aced 32A is struggling to get a B in 32B, so yea, I’d imagine it’s pretty hard.

Westow:

Yes I applied as a freshmen to UCLA and admitted as a UCLA student.

I only have 39 units which hardly qualifies for a transfer student and I’m still a high school student; I’m allowed to take that many classes at a college and still considered a freshmen applicant under the 2+2 program in this state as long as I took these classes as a student in high school.
