I think Hagrid or Dumbledore will die. Any idea who is this Half-blood prince? JK said there has been no him before.

Well, since it’s almost out…

I used to be so excited too but after waiting so long … it’s just like “cool the 6th book is coming out”.
But I remember when I would go on the message boards and just discuss what might happen. I was such a dork lol.
I have a friend who’s like that now … she’s a rising senior.
And she’s sooo into it… it’s crazy.

She told me she thinks Dumbledore will die. Her reason: "well okay remember after those 2 men stole the book and tried to sell it for 90,000 pounds … after that the whole town swore it was Dumbledore so the information musta leaked out or something … "

I don’t really believe her but I really oughta read the 5th book again cuz i’ve forgotten the details

Funny thing: I placed a hold on HBP today at my library…but there are already 170 people ahead of me…

lol…i wonder how long it will take each person to read it…

Methinks that Dumblydooor is too powerful to be killed off.

She also says that Harry will die in the 7th book.

Which is possible because he’s not strong enough to fight Voldemort
Everytime he escaped was cuz he got lucky

Oooh i also wanna read the 4th book in the artemis fowl series. I’ve forgotten a whole lot too since I read the 3rd book

Harry will die in the last book, of AIDS…

uh…i told him to get some condoms

who dies???

www.mugglenet.com is awesome :)

My bet on the Half-Blood Prince would be Hagrid (half-giant/half-wizard whose mom was a chieftain or something of giants, making him “royal” in a sense) OR Godric Gryffindor (who says he has to be alive?).

Esp. Godric, I guess, since this was almost the title of the 2nd book (where he’s mentioned alot) and we still have mysteries to unravel about “Godric’s Hollow” and the 4 houses of Hogwarts, esp. the Slytherin-Gryffindor rivalry.

As for who dies, I’d put my money on Dumbledore, Hagrid, or Mrs. Weasley. I think we’ll see another loved one sacrifice him/herself for Harry, one of the reasons being that JKR wants HP to be a “darker series.”

Also, Harry’s attitude in the 5th book really annoyed me and I hope he changes and has less anger in the 6th.

More random predictions about what we’ll find out in book 6:
- Something’s up with St. Mungo’s…I think it’s a shady place and we were introduced to it more in the 5th book for a reason. Lucius donates loads of money to it. The “false-happy-statue” in the Ministry where proceeds go to Mungo’s is foreshadowing. Longbottoms are in there.
- Something will be revealed about Lily Potter (why was Voldemort more reluctant to kill her, telling her multiple times to stand aside first?)

I’m also hoping for more Snape background.

I’ve got more theories but this post is already too Harry-nerdy as it is. Also, I won’t claim credit for the St. Mungo’s theory…I think I took it from someone/someplace else, don’t remember where…

Harry Potter is a kids’ series. It seems unfitting to me to have to a hero or a heroin(sp) die. In the seventh book, voldemort should be vanquished for eternity, and harry should be a hero. In lord of the ring’s case, i wouldn’t have cared if the hero had died as it was adult fiction anyway.

I think the half blood prince is Felix Felicis, or another character we haven’t met yet.

As for who dies, Dumbledore will have to die sometime before the end of the seventh book, because otherwise, Harry won’t be on his own in his fight to kill He-who-must-not-be-named. And one of them has to kill the other, so there can’t be any outside interference from people like Dumbledore. Still, I don’t know if he will die in this book or the next. I just hope that any of the Weasleys (except Percy), Lupin, Hermione, Tonks, Luna, Neville, and Hagrid don’t die.

Nine days!!! I’m going at midnight to get my copy from Borders. I made myself a skirt, and I’m in the process of trimming a sweater and vest, I painted a tie, I have my white dress shirt and mary janes, and all I need are grey knee socks, which I can’t seem to find anywhere. I am soooooo excited!!!
:D

I’m going to a Borders as well. I will be dressed as a muggle.

As an aside - sardine jelly beans are DISGUSTING. :(

I find Horseradish to be the worst. It made me want to gag immediately. I no longer eat Bertie Botts; there’s too much of a risk.

9 more days…yipee.!!! ![]()
cant wait to get my hands on the book

Yeah - “is it popcorn or booger?” :o

Ooh, me too!! (I’m not normally like this, honestly–but I am a huge Snape fan.)

On July 16th, I will be getting on a plane to Europe. I plan to pick up the British edition upon my arrival.

i’m a huge neville fan.

poor 'bottom.

I heart Harry Potter with an enormous passion…and all of you for loving him too :)

ya neville will def have a bigger role, esp after what was said in the 5th book.

mugglenet is def awesome! http://www.mugglenet.com/books/futurebooks/book6facts.shtml

"Other Info: On August 16th, the door on JKR’s site opened giving us the following excerpt of book 6, which describes the Half-Blood Prince:

(He) looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp."

aww i’m so excited!!! just 9 more days to go
