Harvard 2015 Hopefuls

I believe most schools have a set date that interviewers are supposed to send the interview reports by, like for Yale SCEA, I think it was 12/1.

I had my interview a couple weeks ago by the way

^Source? 10 char

^Alumni interviewers on this forum have said something to that effect, though I can’t remember the actual date.

Yes, the Yale SCEA deadline was 12/1 (I was told this by my interviewer, since we had the interview only a couple of days before the deadline)

You know, I just noticed that every year since 9th grade, I have like 1 C/D in a subject that no one really cares about (Civics), and yet my final average is always excellent and between ranks 2-4. Think this’ll affect my chances? Everything else is quite excellent. Well, maybe not excellent, but it’s all pretty good.

Question: my school has 2 semesters/school year. This semester won’t end until the end of January, but my entire HS transcript is being sent right now-is this okay? Should I send my semester 1 marks after exams, and then the semester 2 mid-term marks, and FINALLY the final HS transcript?

I’m international and nobody knows these things about how the U.S. system works. Thanks!

@RainbowSprinkles:

I’m in an international school as well. As I understand it, my school sends my transcript now, then sends an update with Semester 1 marks after exams and THEN the final transcript. No midterm marks.

Might be different with yours, but I hope that helps!

I believe T26E4 indicated the timeline for interviewers for Yale SCEA in the Yale forum. My interviewer for one of my RD schools said that her report needs to be in by February 15

Is there MBA highly ranked?

^Harvard Business School is very highly ranked if that’s what you’re asking

How many application updates (new awards, etc.) are allowed? Recommended?

When would be best? I know I will probably be gaining a few awards, etc. around early March, but would it be too late to send those in?

@ everisen, thanks! I asked my school’s student services secretary and she said transcripts are sent:
-now (probably this week or early next week)
-in February: Semester 1 grades
-in April: Semester 2 midterms
-in June: final everything

:) yay

@ Z.Exodus2008, I don’t think an applicant should update unless something major has happened (e.g. got a national award). Even in that case, I wouldn’t update more than twice at most. I don’t think any school sets a maximum of updates allowed, but I would think one or two updates makes sense. Because the schools that accept January testing scores say to have these scores sent ASAP, I think you should get everything/all updates in by end of February AT the LATEST (just my opinion).

Just out of curiosity, is anyone totally done with college stuff now besides waiting for results? Like done with all your applications and interviews?

My son is still doing lots of interviews. Yale called just today. Otherwise pretty much done.

I just found out that someone I know got an admissions decision from Harvard today. How is this possible?

They could have received a likely letter. Is he/she a recruited athlete?

Nope. She told me that she just got a call from an admissions officer last night and got a confirmation e-mail today! Are they doing rolling admissions? I thought they all went out April 1…?

unless they did EA and there was some crazy mixup that happened to be fixed yesterday, i dont see how they could be admitted now. thats a pretty fast letter too.

out of curiosity, how “qualified” is this person you know? i suppose that harvard might eagerly snatch up one of america’s great young hopes by admitting uber early, but that would be an unlikely breach of policy.

She couldn’t have done EA, because Harvard got rid of its EA program. I don’t know exactly how qualified she is… I met her at a leadership camp in DC last year.

wow. that’s pretty amazing. so did the rest of us get rejected if we haven’t received personal calls? =(
