I didn’t fully understand this prior post. I’m sorry that your student did not have a good experience. Most, but not all interviewers are dedicated and care about students, but unfortunately there are some who are not good.
It’s not ideal for a parent to contact admissions. Please ask your student to contact the admissions office if they would like another interview. It’s getting late now, so it may or may not be possible. Please see my post (#3) above.
I am getting very nervous for my DS. She received interview request in very early Jan. matched with interviewer by Mid Jan. but not yet to receive a interview. At first, she was receving interview request on every Wed. with link to set up interview time but there were no available time to chose from/all interview was booked. She contacted interviewer twice via email and he/she has been replying in timely manner to let her know that he/she will contact her once he/she has clear schedule… but never set a date to conduct interview yet. I am hoping she can still get a interview.
Son applied RD and submitted end of December. GC submitted Mid-Year on 2/5 (Harvard’s portal says no later than 2/1), but doubt that that really hurts.
Regardless, no interview to date, so assuming rejection because we live within an hour’s drive from Boston and there seems to be a strong local alumni association.
I never received an alumni interview, and I live in an area with a strong Harvard alum presence and fairly active alumni club. Luckily, I was contacted by my regional AO to schedule an interview with them. Had the interview, and it went great. Is this a good sign, or am I looking too much into it?
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Move on please. Harvard did not send out any acceptances. They have sent out Likely Letters. Posts on Instagram can be faked. For any Ivy to send out acceptances would violate the Joint Ivy Statement on Admission Policies. Did not happen. And no reason to spout misinformation on multiple threads.
