Hi everyone,

I recently got a likely letter. I’m a non traditional student because I joined the military out of high school, so even though I have a lot of college coursework because it was all either online or dual enrollment, I applied as a first year. I have about 5 different transcripts to keep track of. The day I got my likely letter I was over the moon but anxious that something was going to mess it up. I went back and crossed all my T’s and dotted my l’s. I was applying for FAFSA for a different school that day when I realized I HAD indeed used a Pell grant for 1 class and I completely forgot to include it on my applications. It was 1 online class I took at a random college 3 years ago and never went back after that until I went back to a different college last year. I immediately emailed admissions explaining the oversight and sent them the transcript ASAP. I got a response saying ā€œYou’re all set, we received the updated transcript. No further action is needed at this timeā€ I can’t help but think they will think I was trying to pull one over on them and my formal decision will come back as rejected. I didn’t get a great grade in the class but it wasn’t my only bad grade, I was completely honest that I wasn’t a great college/high school student until I went back this past year.

First, thank you for your service. Second, if you received a likely letter, you are a likely admit despite the additional course and transcript submission. You did the right thing by identifying and addressing the accidental omission and that should make a good impression. Please let us know how things go!

Yooo. I had an interview from Harvard as an international student. I think I’m the only one that got one out a super competitive cohort (Education USA’s Competitive college Club which basically chooses the most promising candidates for admission in the country : D ). What do you guys think this means. I’ll know soon enough either way but I just wanted to see what other people might know cause I couldn’t come to a straight conclusion after some digging. thx : )

It means they are seriously considering you. Your odds of acceptance are above average, but not 100%>. Good luck

@skieurope :disappointed_face:

Ayy. thanks for the info and kind words. Ivy day isn’t too far off, so I guess I’ll see for myself. will post an update then hopefully. Good luck to everybody : D

When did you have this interview

Thank you for the encouragement, and congratulations to your daughter! Do you remember approximately how long she was on the wait list before she got the offer?

Does the university asking for mid year update has any link. The other ivy I applied to did not ask for them in my portal.

Midyear updates are required. Asking for them is a reminder, not a hint.

but the other ivy leagues did not ask for them in their portal

I had my interview with an alumni towards the end of February (I’m intl from India)

How many indians get an interview?

Anyone knows any portal astrology?

also waiting for astrology

There is none for Harvard honestly

You’ll be waiting a long time.

There’s 4 days to go. When you open your portal at 7, that will be the only clue on your decision

Thank you! As a RD applicant, she was on the waitlist from Ivy Day until she received an offer on May 16, 2024. She was given one week to accept or decline. Of note, that timing was a bit challenging as it coincided with both her prom and high school graduation.

one of my favorite quotes from some thread years ago:

I FOUND THE BEST PORTAL ASTROLOGY! Something called a ā€œstatus updateā€ on your portal! It is 100% accurate and works for all colleges!
