The faculty deadline for submitting grades isn’t until January 3. I know the professors for the course I TFed this semester aren’t planning to submit until just before the deadline… ;)

My son still hasn’t rec’vd all his grades. He’s rec’vd 1 only. Thanks molliebatmit for letting us know about the Jan3rd deadline.

D’s second grade was uploaded Dec 29 and the last two Dec 31. Boyfriend also got his last grade on Friday.

My daughter will graduate from Harvard College in May/June 2011.

This will be our first trip to USA so not sure for many things. Few questions about commencement process, as we will be traveling from abroad

For how many days we need to book the hotel

Are there hotels nearby that are not expansive? Or reasonably priced and we can take tube to travel?

We have revived some notification but not sure what events are necessary and what events are not necessary to attend

What to wear during the events?

Anything we need to know.

Any formal lunch/dinner?

Dates or schedule on line - links
Thanks in advance

I think http://www.commencementoffice.harvard.edu/graduating_seniors_parents/ALL_SENIOR_INFO_2011.pdf answers most of your questions.

I would say that you should skip Baccalaureate (you can only watch a telecast… not enough room in Mem Church), you can skip the dinner (nothing special), and possibly afternoon exercises (they themselves are boring, but the speaker can be excellent). We didn’t go to ROTC commissioning or the concert

As for hotels, my family found the Doubletree near the business school to be a good mix of (somewhat) reasonable prices + (somewhat) convenient location: [Boston Hotel - Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel Boston by Cambridge, MA](http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/BOSSBDT-Doubletree-Guest-Suites-Boston-Massachusetts/index.do)

We live in Boston and hotels are outrageously expensive. Your tube (train) idea is a good one. If I were trying to save money on Boston/Cambridge hotels, I would consider the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree. [Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree](http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/maps_directions.jhtml?ctyhocn=BOSBTHX)

Excellent traveller reviews on tripAdvisor.com and expedia.com. Less than $120 per night. Free shuttle to the Braintree MBTA train station and to the Logan Express Airport shuttle. A 45 minute ride on the MBTA Red Line back and forth to Harvard, but it is scenic, especially as you cross the Charles River into Cambridge from Boston.

We went to both. I thought the dinner was nice, if for no other reason than to see whole blocking group together with their parents. As for Class Day afternoon, if the speaker sounds interesting, go. They’ve had some pretty good ones over the years.

my son just heard that the entire grading system had to be brought down to correct errors that were seen. he heard this from a friend of his, so not sure if this is correct. apparently some of the grades that were listed are not correct so the entire system was brought down to correct all grades… ugh!

^I think the site’s working again: I finally got my other three grades back :).

^ seeing these posts, I just logged into D’s record. It is up and the grades are the same.

thanks. I’ll have my son check again

…UGH! he’s still missing 2 grades. He’s recv’d 2 and waiting on the other 2. what is taking so long??? :(

fwiw, my daughter’s last grade was posted this morning.

my s never tells us his grades! We haven’t a clue! He didn’t tell us his high school grades either.

Apparently it is a problem for more than just guitars101’s son: [Grade Confusion Continues After Deadline Passes | The Harvard Crimson](Grade Confusion Continues After Deadline Passes | News | The Harvard Crimson)

Still only 2 of 4 for my daughter also. The Crimson article was interesting; at least Guitars and I aren’t the only ones kind of frustrated by the process.

csshsm, thanks for posting. yes, good to know others are also frustrated

cltdad, thanks for posting

yay, son’s grades finally in. Hopefully, they are correct and final :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the break with their kids. I have a rather strange question. Does anyone know when Admitted Students Weekend will be held this year? I have looked all over but have been unable to find it! Thanks!
